Dr. Boyer is a licensed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist in DE, PA, and NJ who specializes in 1) the assessment and treatment of trauma and dissociation, and 2) the treatment of healthcare workers. She is the Director of Psychology Services for Christiana Care Health System, adjunct faculty at Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology (IGCP), and she also provides trauma-focused psychotherapy and dissociative disorders consultation at Survivors of Abuse in Recovery, Inc. (SOAR). In her private practice, Dr. Boyer provides individual psychotherapy, professional consultation, and conducts collaborative/therapeutic psychological assessments. Dr. Boyer is the past president of the Philadelphia Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (PSPP). She earned her doctorate from Widener University's IGCP, following which she completed a trauma/dissociative disorders specialty postdoctoral fellowship at the prestigious Sheppard Pratt Trauma Disorders Program.
Dr. Boyer has presented and published on topics such as trauma, dissociation, gender, and personality assessment. Her current research focuses on dissociative disorders, trauma-informed care, and the treatment of healthcare workers. In 2022, released an APA-accredited interactive CE module on developing cultural competence in the treatment of healthcare workers and a toolkit on organizational recovery from collective trauma published by the American Medical Association. She is currently co-authoring the Guidelines for Psychologists Regarding the Assessment of Psychological Trauma in Adults for the American Psychological Association.
