I am a Doctor of Psychology with over 8 years of clinical experience. I am a therapist dedicated to helping people feel better and live better. Negative feelings are often an indication that something in our lives needs to change, either internally or externally. It is often not clear what needs to change however. This is where talk therapy can help. I will help you to figure out what and how things can change. Your job will be to speak as freely as you can. And my job will be to listen very carefully and offer feedback.
Through this process we will, together, come up with a picture of you that makes sense--one that you can live with, and one that you can use to help create the life you most want to live.
Finding a therapist you like, and with whom you feel safe enough to talk freely, is essential to doing this work. I offer free consultation sessions to help you determine if we are a good fit.
I use a psychodynamic conceptualization in understanding people and in helping them to understand themselves, with a focus on affect.
I work only with adults but I will see people individually, as a couple, or in groups. I would say my specialty is in working with people who are struggling with grief/loss, psychosis, and personality disorders.
